To Him Ireland She Was His Dark Rosaleen
And For As Long As The Fields Of Ireland Remain Green
That Beautiful Poem Is Destined To Live On
When Others To Posterity Will Have Long Gone,
Poor James Clarence Mangan He Did Live It Hard
But His Fame Lives On As Ireland’s National Bard
He Died Of Consumption Or So We Are Told
A Young Man As Such Of Forty Six Years Old,
Outside Of His Homeland Not Even Well Known
Yet In Death Around Him A Legend Has Grown
He Lived And He Died In Extreme Poverty
Yet Ireland Does Not Have One Greater Than He,
Ireland’s National Poem Dark Rosaleen Penned By Mangan Ireland’s National Poet
And He Surely Is One Well Worthy Of Note.
