Near A Pond One Spring Morn, Sir Cricket Sang And Played,
When Glancing Round He Viewed An Adoring Cricket-‘s Face.
Though Anxious To Leave He Was Seduced There To Stay,
For Perchance True Love Awaited Him In This Place.
So He Crooned His Best Love Songs Thus To Serenade,
He Would Charm This Image And Dazzle With Sweet Sounds.
Gently Easing Near, His New Friend Moved The Same Way,
Singing And Playing, His Toes Tapping On The Ground.

Both Seemed So Delighted As Joyfully He Played,
The Pond Rippled With Love-‘s Vibrant Musical Tunes;
They Smiled And Flirted Though Time Was Fleeing Away,
The Sun Then Dismissed As The Pond Revealed The Moon.
Tired And Out Of Songs, Sir Cricket Gave Up Romance,
And As He Left The Pond He Also Left His Glance.
